Insurance

At this time, I do not accept insurance.
If your insurance is private insurance HMO, Kaiser, Medi-Cal, Tricare, Medicare, most likely your insurance does not cover my services. Please contact your insurance company for more information.

If your insurance is private insurance PPO, it may offer partial reimbursement for a service provided by an out-of-network provider (I am considered as an out-of-network provider). Please contact your insurance company for more information. When you contact them, you may want to ask them the following to grasp a better idea of how much it will be covered.

  1. Deductible—meaning how much you need to pay out-of-pocket.
  2. Do they offer reimbursement for therapy via online provided by an out-of-network provider? —some insurance companies may not cover online therapy provided by an out-of-network provider (I only provide therapy via online as of 2023).
  3. If you see an out-of-network provider therapist, how much do they offer reimbursement?

You are expected to pay for services at the time services are rendered.
At the first session of every month, I provide you with a statement, superbill, for you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Please be aware that mental health diagnosis code(s) needs to be on a superbill.

Good Faith Estimate

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.
You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
