Tatsuya Arakawa LMFT > I would especially recommend therapy to those who believe they are mentally strong.

A testimonial from a male client in his 40s.

What kind of concerns or issues were you struggling with before receiving Tatsuya's therapy?

I felt that my pride and dignity were trampled upon after receiving an unexpected and unreasonable performance evaluation from my company. I became increasingly frustrated and angry about the things I couldn’t accept, making it difficult for me to control my emotions. As a result, I began to experience insomnia and physical health problems. I was also concerned about the negative impact my mental distress was having on my family, which led me to seek help from Mr. Arakawa.

How did Tatsuya's therapy help improve your situation?

I’ve learned how to face my emotions more effectively, and my insomnia and physical health issues have disappeared. Additionally, I realized that instead of forcibly suppressing my emotions, I have the option to understand and accept them. This has made my heart feel much lighter.

What was your impression of therapy before and after?

Before, I thought therapy was about learning some kind of technique or solution. However, in reality, it was not about quick fixes, but about gradually digging deeper into myself with the therapist’s help, allowing me to discover my true values on my own. It wasn’t easy, but I feel it was a valuable opportunity to reexamine myself.

What did you like about the therapist?

The therapist made it clear that he was absolutely on my side and that the therapy sessions were entirely for me. Because of those, I always felt safe to talk during the sessions. Additionally, by asking me questions at the right moments, the therapist encouraged me to reflect on why I was feeling or thinking in certain ways, allowing me to find answers through self-inquiry.

Who would you recommend the therapist to?

I think everyone has their own unique worries and anxieties, but I would especially recommend therapy to those who believe they are mentally strong.
