Testimonials

Tatsuya Arakawa LMFT > “I would recommend it to anyone who is carrying emotional burdens, whether big or small, or anyone who feels the need to talk to someone about their painful thoughts. And, as it helped me, I hope therapy can lead to improvement or resolution for others as well.”

A testimonial from a female client in her 20s.

What kind of concerns or issues were you struggling with before receiving Tatsuya's therapy?

I was suffering from anxiety symptoms (such as sudden heart palpitations and crying) and extreme insomnia due to excessive stress from workplace relationships and work demands.

How did Tatsuya's therapy help improve your situation?

The biggest improvement was that I was able to honestly accept myself for being mentally exhausted. Additionally, by untangling the emotions and thoughts, I became more calm and able to approach things more clearly, which improved my panic symptoms.

What was your impression of therapy before and after?

Before starting therapy, I didn’t understand exactly what would happen in the sessions, and I couldn’t imagine how simply talking to the therapist every week would be helpful, so I had some resistance. However, now I truly realize the great importance of “talking.” Through talking with the therapist, I felt that my thought patterns and subconscious values—things I hadn’t noticed on my own—slowly became clearer, and I believe that helped improve the issues I was dealing with.

What did you like about the therapist?

The fact that my therapist never judged me, despite the confusion I was feeling from my problems, and instead offered emotional support was very comforting. Also, during each conversation, my therapist helped me identify my thought patterns, as mentioned earlier, and gently guided me to recognize them. This was a huge help.

Who would you recommend the therapist to?

I think therapy may not suit everyone, as there are differences in how people respond and how they connect with a therapist, but I would recommend it to anyone who is carrying emotional burdens, whether big or small, or anyone who feels the need to talk to someone about their painful thoughts. And, as it helped me, I hope therapy can lead to improvement or resolution for others as well.
