What kind of concerns or issues were you struggling with before receiving Tatsuya's therapy?
I was feeling very anxious about everything, to the point where I couldn’t focus on anything. Sometimes, I would feel nauseous or extremely fatigued, and I’d have days when I couldn’t do anything and just stayed in bed. I also lacked confidence in myself and was worried so much.
How did Tatsuya's therapy help improve your situation?
I learned how to deal with my anxiety, and my symptoms, like nausea, subsided. I also became able to think more positively and gained more confidence in myself.
What was your impression of therapy before and after?
Before starting therapy, I thought therapy was something only people with extremely serious mental health issues would do, so I had significant resistance to it. After finishing, I realized that this wasn’t the case, and even if I couldn’t solve a small problem on my own, I should feel comfortable seeking advice when needed.
What did you like about the therapist?
I’ve always been someone who thinks a lot and analyzes myself, but I had trouble organizing my thoughts in my head. Through therapy with Mr. Arakawa, I was guided in a way that helped me organize those thoughts. Thanks to that, I feel that my analytical skills have improved. Also, when anxiety arose, I was guided to recognize it and deal with it on my own. Additionally, Mr. Arakawa shared personal experiences about adapting to English and American culture during my studies abroad, which I could really relate to, and that was very encouraging. Currently, I’m able to continue my studies in the U.S. thanks to Dr. Arakawa’s help.
Who would you recommend the therapist to?
I would recommend it to anyone who, like me, struggles with self-confidence, tends to get anxious, or is facing a problem they don’t know how to solve on their own. Also, for those who may not have a very positive image of therapy, I would suggest giving it a try.
